"The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous." -Carrie
this quote is taken from the series finale of sex and the city....as i read the sypnosis on the sex and the city website (we poor ppl in singapore can't watch it yet on cable...so we resort to smuggling of dvds haha...) for the last time, and reading about carrie and mr. big finally getting together....i myself got a bittersweet feeling. carrie has been through six seasons of dating...and the things that were constant...are her friendships with miranda, charlotte and samantha, as well as the love she and mr. big shared. the rest (including aidan, jack berger and petrovsky) didn't matter anymore. now she has a job, a partner, 3 amazing friends who will stick with her no matter what, a fabulous apartment in manhattan, a really huge wardrobe of fabulous clothes and who can forget, her collection of fabulous high heels...
the good thing is not only was there closure on our lovely leading lady, the supporting cast also closed their lives...even samantha! 6 seasons of guys and relationships and experiments, heart breaks, marriages, babies, gays, straights, bisexuals, the guy who licked charlotte's face, richard wright who made samantha fall hard...not to mention cancer faced first by steve, then by samantha. somehow all these mirrors lives that women live by today...maybe not really in singapore....
for me...in terms of relationships...it has been smooth till now...i've never met someone whom i can truly love. or someone i could remotely fall in love with...yet....i've recently discovered that the difference between friendship with guys and a actual love relationship is sexual chemistry. without that, you're just friends. with that...you're cleared for take off. then someone asked me how do u define sexual chemistry....i think that's subjective...yah...
but whatever it is, i'm not the kind of girl that falls in and out of love easily...i think...considering i've never been in love for 18 years and counting. but i know he's out there somewhere...and i just gotta keep on looking....until i find him. the ONE...my very own mr. big...
p.s now we finally know his name is john....as seen on carrie's caller ID...
