exams again...

i just realised next week there're no more lessons! which means time to mug. sigh. today's psych quiz was hmmm...the thing about psychology is that it's so interesting to read. you find out many fascinating things about life and behaviour. my favourite is probably social psychology. it's just so interesting. but knowing that you have to commit to memory all the psychologists and their works and the theories they come up with...is just so annoying. it drives me crazy because it's something so interesting, yet it's being reduced to an exam subject. along with the others. where you mug mindlessly and endlessly just to see a presentable grade on your results slip. it's the same thing as biology i guess. it's also so fascinating (for me at least.) to learn about all about you. everything that's happening inside you RIGHT NOW as you read this. how your brilliant cell works. i think our cell deserves a Nobel Prize for doing such a good job. yes and give it a break. we're not perfect either, so don't expect your cells to not work and be damaged. at least some of them have the sense to realise they're damaged and hence commits suicide. yes. suicide. it just goes into self-destruction mode aka apoptosis and it gets degraded before it causes u trouble and money.

ok..starting to ramble.

biology is also so fascinating. yet it's reduced to mindless mugging for the exams. the only good thing s that come out of my course is the satisfaction that follows after a discussion on how something works or a particular concept, and the realisation that you actually understand what's going on! it's so satisfying. plus all the cool lab stuff that we get to do. ok..again..cool to me. playing with bacteria and disturbing their genes and see if they turn blue or not is cool to me. muahahaha...

easter weekend just passed me by. went for easter concert with sam. it was as usual really really good. this time i wished i could have sung with the youth choir. what a wasted opportunity. =( but as i see the smiling faces singing to the Lord, i couldn't help but smile. as i see them executing perfect actions and sing perfectly in tune, i can't help but thank God for His grace, how i was with them during some rehearsals and ade and teacher aileen would have a little trouble handling 80 kids. and scrambling to find costumes and fedora hats and polo tees. and not to mention coming up with and teaching the actions. He is just so amazing. never ceases to amaze me that His love is alive! =)

the stress is starting to creep in. 12 lectures of notes to plough through per module. a total of 5 modules this semester. means 60 lectures to study and understand and commit to memory.

Lord, I need You.

ok...moving on to happier things. st. patrick's day was a blast! sam joined me and the gang for the first time. was nice catching up with ian, his new girlfriend min, joanne, jeanette and lydia. all mass comm students. so no problems finding conversation topics. hung out at a very very crowded molly malone's irish pub. had my first green-coloured heineken...in the spirit of the irish and all things green. had yummy irish stew and other assortment of finger and sit-down food. had a ggrreeaattt time. thanks guys. hopefully we meet up more often than just on st. pat's...happy 5th year of getting to know you ian. thanks for being a good friend these long years.

today went to the zoo with some intellectually disabled kids. was quite fun! the animals were beautiful and the children enjoyed themselves. it was an eye opener trying to work with the kids. would give me some experience to plan for a camp i'm doing with 3 other girls from CAS. Youth for Causes, by YMCA. quite excited about it actually. after the zoo outing 10 of us from the organising comm went to have ben & jerry's ice cream at the parlor! it was sssooo good. 20 scoops...half was paid by my boss. we tried all 16 flavours+4 others which i kinda recommended. hee~

family camp just ended in johor. i wished i was there. but still..i'm thankful for the lessons i learn every week. i'm thankful for His grace and mercy. i'm thankful that He loves me even though i'm a sinner. and that He sent His only Son to die for me on the cross. Romans 5 becomes one of my most beloved chapters. His love for me and everyone else is just so amazing.

The steadfast love of the Lord NEVER ceases
His mercies never come to an end.
They're new every morning, new every morning
Great is Thy faithfulness, O Lord
Great is Thy faithfulness.

Life without God is like a broken pencil.

It's pointless.

too lazy to start study for quiz. ssiigghh. i need motivation.

most probably taking film studies for inter-sem. should be real interesting. hopefully sam and i and maybe andrea gets it. now i have to worry about intro to psych. it's just way too much information. it's scary to even think about it.

many congrats to the Os and the As people for getting your results. be it good or bad, i hope you'll find happy thoughts in it. i know eveyrone says grades matter. but as children of God, it doesn't. God has a perfect plan for you, and everything is under control. we just need to run this race marked out for us with perseverance. to clara, you've been a great student and i enjoyed tutoring you and giving you all my study tips! oh..she doesn't have the URL to my blog. but still... and i'm glad she did well. grace, i'm sure you put in your best effort. and if u do not get into law, you'll be doing something else, and that will be the direction the Lord wants you to go. so don't worry and keep praying ok? wani and i were just thinking back on the day we got our results last year. time sure flies by you sometimes. and sometimes it's just so slow. time.

reading i've kissed dating goodbye. not the most appropriate book for someone who's attached. but i thought i would gain some perspective. and it really got me thinking about dating and relationships and love with regards to God and being a Christian.

maybe i should stop rambling and go study. or i could go watch my CSI miami DVDs...

pondering about the whole points thing and staying in hall next academic year.. i think i should have enough points to stay. if not i can always pull strings by Interhall contract bridge or ask jason to speak for me. ahahaha...but i'm worried about my roommate. i want her to stay with me if i do stay....but......hmmm...don't know what to do. howhowhow?

sigghh....

gonna watch CSI...tmr i start studying. i better do!

later...
