well...just came home from mardigras@temasek....that is a bazaar-cum-arts performance around tj campus kinda thing....it's happening...quite...but thought the one 2 yrs ago was MORE happening...maybe 'cos it was the 25th anniversary. anyway it was a nice time...i saw SO many people...juniors, seniors, friends, tutors, mrs. lim, mrs. hoo etc etc...talked to many people...indulged myself in the good ol' tj spirit of playing and friendships...
well suprisingly a lot of my cohort's ppl...(yr 3s) were involved in the performances! weiqi, steph, aaron, siying, august..plus seniors like rahmat...that aside...the performances were still very very good!! the choir, the dances, the music...at first it was quite bland..but it got much better as the night wore on...there was an "all-stars" performance where it featured beatboxing, breakdancing, rapping, singing...by weiqi, aaron, charles (a yr 2) and stephanie...and it was REALLY good....it is so unbelievable how talented these ppl are....sigh....the crowds were impressed...clearly. then we moved to the rock wall for the 'closing ceremony'...rahmat's band played...very good band! quite happening also...there was a mini mosh pit where some bunch of tjcians were jumping and waving their hands in the air, screaming on top of their voices to familiar sounds of 3 doors down, linkin' park, red hot chilli peppers etc...some things never change...and i'm glad for that...=)
had dinner with ian...this old friend of mine whom i seldom see but is always greatly missed....he has become vainer...sporting a new hairstyle, rings (haha) and using beauty products! well...he has 6 months to be vain b4 he goes into NS..so i let him be lah...though many times during the night i kept going.."oh my gosh you are even vainer than me!" but it's always nice to talk to him..'cos he's the most cynical, the most jaded, the most politically incorrect in a politically correct way...(he's a journalist...what can u expect?), the one guy i can hold conversations with without having to think of the next topic to talk about...and we can talk for many hours...i think the record was either 5 hours plus at molly malone's or marche...
with friends like these...what more can i ask for? don't worry i still want to get married and have kids...the prospect of dying alone is just too much to bear...which led me to a question...if the ONE doesn't show up in life...should we
1. give up, grow old and die alone
2. settle for someone who's not the perfect yin to your yang
3. continue looking till you find him?
do the prince charming in fairy tales come? do fairy tales come thru'?
