i love life after exams...i feel free...
free to do whatever i fancy...catch up with friends....
not to mention christmas is just round the corner...*hums merry christmas with love...*
the past week i have caught 2 movies so vastly different. one was a beautiful film about a man and a woman... such films are so rare... it was so thought-provoking and so sensitive. it was also very nice to be picking up subtle nuances that would resonate in the film...whether the script-writers wanted it there or not. i loved the movie...before sunset...and having watched before sunrise on vcd before...i appreciated their relationship even more...and i sort of half expected the ending...and i thought it was good.... finally a break away from the cliche happy ever after....
but not all will like it...i admit....to some..it will be a boring all talk and no action....considering its a 'romantic' movie about a man and a woman there's not even a kiss...i know some people who felt this way about it... but with all due respect.. these people are quite shallow...or just that they do not read into the more profound and deep stuff in those conversations...
but whatever you say...i love it...
back to topic..the other movie was bridget jones: the edge of reason....i read the book long time ago...so i vaguely knew what to expect...but i was suprised....it was just as hilarious as the first one! haha...had a great time laughing beside melody. it was really really funny....that bridget....she's the best...and mark darcy!! argh....he's just as gorgeous and charming...and more screen time! =) delighted....
time at home has been spent reading..or listening to clay's christmas album..which is doing SO well..gone platinum (means sold 1 million copies) in its debut week...no. 1 on the holiday charts...no. 4 on billboard albums chart..best selling christmas album since celine dion... it's a terrific album...just as good as celine's these are the special times...something u can enjoy year after year...people who are neutral about clay's music have grown to love this album...
other than that..online..doing stuff..chatting...and having Without A Trace DVD marathon... haha...without a trace...is a drama about FBI's missing persons unit...i am hooked!!! storylines just grip you...captivating...exciting...interesting.... love it love it...got melody hooked too when she came over to bathe after cycling at east coast...
just finished reading clay's book in 2 sittings...breaking for lunch. i took 3 hours... it was easy reading...his writing style is succinct...to the point..and painfully frank at times...and doing what he does best...his snarkiness...=) he offers his life lessons...from those people in his life...his mother...his estranged birth father..his strained relationship with his stepfather...his love for his step brother...the suicide of his half sister...all those kids who picked at him throughout school..how he tried to find his identity and not be afraid...the girls in his life that taught him lessons where he least expected it... his work at YMCA..his faith and relationship with the southern Baptist and God....working with children with autism...his dreams about teaching special education and becoming a high school principle...how he tried to adjust to life under the public eye..under scruntiny..under the screaming groups of his fans...the harsh differences between hollywood and small town Raleigh...
it was an eye opener to clay's life and his thoughts and his past. yes only fans and groupies and claymates...but it was a good read and my heart went out to him...when he talked about so painful issues...and when it got me thinking about my own life..my own parents...my childhood...my future...my faith...
it was therapeutic really...
and even if you're not a fan of clay....if u are free..just pick it up...it's easy to read...and you'll be amazed really...
ok...if u're gonna scorn and roll your eyes and go..."here she goes...claymate..talking about clay and trying to get you to love him..." fine...i really don't care about what people think anymore...i got tired of it... as long as i'm living right....i don't care...laugh all you want...at least i'm a happy girl...
Sleigh Ride by Clay Aiken
Album: Merry Christmas With Love
Just hear those sleigh bells jing-a-ling, ring-ting-ting-a-ling, too.
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.
Outside the snow is falling and friends are calling, "Yoo-hoo!"
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.
Giddy-yap, giddy-yap, giddy-yap, let's go,
Let's look at the show
We're riding in a wonderland of snow.
Giddy-yap, giddy-yap, giddy-yap, it's grand,
Just holding your hand.
We're gliding along with a song of a wintery fairyland.
Our cheeks are nice and rosy and comfy-cozy are we.
We're snuggled up together like two birds of a feather would be.
Let's take that road before us and sing a chorus or two.
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.
There's a birthday party at the home of Farmer Gray.
It'll be the perfect ending of a perfect day.
We'll be singing the songs we love to sing without a single stop,
By the fireplace while we watch the chestnuts pop.
There's a happy feeling nothing in the world can buy,
When they pass around the turkey and the pumpkin pie.
It'll nearly be like a picture print by Currier and Ives.
These wonderful things are the things we remember all through our lives!
Just hear those sleigh bells jing-a-ling, ring-ting-ting-a-ling, too.
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.
Outside the snow is falling and friends are calling, "Yoo-hoo!"
Come on, it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you.
i love this song.... =)
