dwelling daily in Your presence.after a week of
madness, sometimes i just want to be with the Lord for awhile at the end of the day, before i sleep it all away. sometimes reading devotionals on matthew or ephesians really lifts my spirits. and it's so amazing! and i totally think i do not deserve such privileges from the Lord. but yet He's always there. =)
anyways, i bid and won my first item on
ebay! during my computer lab lesson on thurs. heh that andrea was encouraging me to buy it! anyway it's the House season 1 dvd boxset region 1 which i saw at sembawang music centre, retailing at S$89 plus. and i looked on amazon it was USD35 plus excluding shipping and handling. but yet i got it on ebay for AUD41 excluding shipping. yay. managed to save some money and have it delivered right to my doorstep! and i finally set up my paypal account (last time during times of getting US claymates to buy stuff for us was always through friends who have paypal). and i paid thru' paypal's exclusive link to ebay! it was so easy and so fast! amazed at what a little debit card and money in your bank can do.
oh no oh no. i'm supposed to save $$ for my
aussie trip! and i's so tempted to buy so many things! like this pretty pair of charles&keith heels on sale! and the eric khoo mee pok man/12 storeys dvd boxset at gramophone and nice madrids/birks! ssiigghhh...save $ save $ to have fun in brisbane with grace wq and davier, and visit sam. yes must.
deconflicting single rooms was a terrible disaster which yielded no resolution and no deconfliction (whats the noun?) after 3 hours and so welcome to hall politics. i got really quite pissed and angry at some of the juniors who just refused to give way. and aiyah it's complicated and i've repeated the story many times to friends so shan't do it here again. if u want the scoop just ask me. or i may just tell you. 'cos i need outlets to rant. but thank God i'm able to 'win' and deconflict my single room. 'cos i have the most points among the 3. lalala. yay. so thankful i didn't have to go through that but still, i stood beside my friends to give them moral support and help say stuff. annoying! and it took 3 bloody hours! which resulted in no studying done on thurs night. 'cos the rest of the time was spent at wsc, typing super-long email to sam and bitch, bitch more to block friends who wanted to know the scoop, talking to jeremy over shared interests of music and macs (no not macdonalds but macintosh) and ultimately, spending some time with the Lord and praying for friends. sigh. good that it preps people like us for politics in workplace. always look on the bright side right.
oh..i must take some space on the world wide web to thank
jason and xinyan for cooking for some of us pasta! =) heh. so nice of them. and it was delicious.
salsa club@amara hotel shopping centre was alright. could have been more fun if grace and i actually had people to dance with. but i'm too beginner-level to dance with the pros on the dance floor. maybe if get to beginners level 2 then go dance. but we had free entry and free drinks so still not so bad. enjoyed the company mostly. so that was nice. but i don't like being led by the guy and that's the whole idea of salsa. the guy leads, the girl follows. i don't like the idea that i'm not free to do what i want to do in a dance. but grace tells me that its actually really fun. so we shall see. =)
its time to start studying for the
final exams. end of year 2. time flies. sometimes i wished the world would just stand still for one minute. maybe we'll actually notice things that we don't.
like the ozone hole above australia. the unrest in rwanda/iraq/middle-east. the aging population on europe. the melting ice caps in north pole. the dying endangered animals in rainforests that no longer exists. the water that is no longer safe for drinking. the H5N1 virus, one billionth of our size and it's threatening to start a pandemic. the women who have no right or status or whatsoever in some countries and are treated like objects or slaves. the children born with HIV. the innocent lives that are killed in the hands of terrorists/protestors etc.the ones with all the money in the world and are miserable, and yet some go to bed hungry.the list just goes on and on. so who cares about which MP is going to be elected or is PAP gonna win this constituency? who cares about australia being all selfish and not letting SIA get the sydney/LA route? who cares about the tammy video that's been circulating about everywhere and like half of singapore has seen it?
still.
