watching
soccer again. haven't watched in awhile. the japan-croatia match is just alright. it's still 0=0 at 84 mins. hopefully japan can keep this score.
it's so funny because during hostel camp we were getting
live updates from friends about the match going on. and i asked male friends about the whole soccer betting thingy. turns out if someone takes the time to explain its actually pretty easy to understand.
now i had a wonderful
5 days since wednesday. so many things happened and i've learnt ssooo many things. and i haven't enjoyed myself this much since coming back from australia.
~
darn! japan was so close to scoring! at 89 mins of normal game time! daarrnnn....
~
wednesday started with
hostel camp. brings back memories of last year's where i was running around as chief programmer. and to think this year there're 2 guys who are CPs. so unfair.... heh. so this year i was a group leader. my boys were really really naughty. i had to be the bad guy and shout at them sometimes just to get them to be disciplined. but generally the games were fun. and it was fun getting to know the boys. and running around with them and hanging out with my fellow volunteers and eating macs for supper.
~
ok so it's 0-0. japan probably has no hope lah.

thursday i left for
girls' night out in church in the afternoon. i shall talk about the lessons later. need to reflect and meditate somemore. but it was my first stayover in Bethany and the first time i cleaned the toilets at church! heh. actually it's quite easy but it's just hard on my troubled lower back. we had the yummiest food. from dinner to supper to breakfast. =) as always. and i had great company. jolin and xiaohan were in my discussion group with tr. chen kee, and we hung out with sisi, jamie, jerm and the usual bunch. pastor mitch was the one to thank because not only he prepared a wonderful programme which resulted in my exponential increase in knowledge and lessons learnt, he was so open about touchy issues and handling a huge group of girls.
so i came back from camp and was so tired i slept after reading a book. ate dinner at home. been a while since i did that. sat woke up late, got plenty of rest and was happily watching
cold mountain dvd that i koped from my sister's house. it was quite good! jude lawww so handsome. and i love nicole kidman. ending was predictable. but i learnt more about the american civil war. then i was chatting with louisa on msn when
melody gave me a call and asked me out for
dinner and i was at marina square within 30 mins. just threw on a top and jeans and packed my bag and put on contacts and got the car and drove out asap cos i had something on later. haha that girl didn't give me much warning beforehand. but it was really great meeting up with her and having nice dinner and just telling her about girls' night out and we were talking about good role models for our life in church, like tr. aldine, tr. chen kee, tr. chiew yen just to name a few. and we went m)phosis to try clothes. i like their clothes a lot because they're so clean-cut and minimalist and its great for basics and solid colours and patterns. love their shoes too! i bought a red halter top which i think looks great with both jeans and formal pants.
i thought about the prayer that mel said for both of us before eating our dinner. that we would continue to walk faithfully together with the Lord and encourage each other and help each other. that He will
bless this friendship. and my prayer that night was exactly that too. because it was this friendship that started many years ago in tj that brought me to know the Lord eventually. she was the one who brought me to Bethany, after much persuasion. and i'm so thankful that she didn't give up on me. =)
today i went to play
paintball with my crazy hall friends. it was sooo fun! but i think it is more like
PAINball because when the balls of paint hit your bare skin, they break and the gelatin covering can sometimes cut your skin and the impact of the pellet leaves a blue-black bruise on your skin. ohmannn the first time i got shot i was really stunned at how painful it was. but adrenaline quickly took over and i shot back. hah. now i'm nursing some 6 bruises, mainly on my arms because that was always exposed when i try to shoot from behind an obstacle. yes and that horrible wayne shot my butt twice when i had surrendered and was making my way to the medical hut.
ok the game is as follows. 2 teams of 4 people. you'll have to shoot down 2 targets at the opposing team's playing field, then retrieve an 'ammunition box' from the middle of the playing field and bring back to your home base at the end of the field without getting shot. sounds easy. nooo. paintballs are flying at you from all directions. when you get shot you're supposed to raise your hand, surrender and go to the medical hut and touch it before you can go back and play again. so when your hand is up in the air no one is supposed to shoot you! that wayynneeee.... i got hit a lot when i was getting the ammunition box cos it was right in the line of fire. and it's really fun! except the terrorist-like mask was not very breathe-able. we used up 2000 pellets in 3 games haha.
paintball is really fun and i recommend it to everyone to at least
try it ONCE in your lifetime. and once only because it's rather expensive. we need more things to do in singapore and that's one of it! and you must not bother about getting hit and having ugly blue-blacks because you'll have to be really
garang and just
chiong. i'm glad that my crazy hall friends were just that. =)
came home to rub my bruises haha. and help with
father's day dinner preparation in the kitchen. dinner was yummy. japanese food in western style cooking. yummy yummy.
there goes my nice nice 5 days. sam is sick again. or more like a headache+drink-too-much-till-hangover kind of sick. aiyah that boy totally cannot take care of himself properly. and i also don't bother nagging already. nag also no use. just let him suffer lah~
i changed my blogskin out of boredom. i don't like those with separate pages for tag board, entries etc. i also don't like those with narrow frames for my entries. i like those like this. with a big space of my entries cos they are wordy. sorry i don't like parading my pictures with my face on such a public place. i updated many links. and the title of my blog now comes from 1 Peter 3:4. that passage was the key of our girls' night out.
"...rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God."- 1 Peter 3:4this is what God wants all us women to possess. more to come.
